Field Service Mechanic – Construction Equipment

Dallas, TX

$32–$36 per hour + Monthly Bonus Potential

Barnsco Texas, a member of the Kodiak Building Partners family, is seeking an experienced Field Service Mechanic to join our Dallas team. This role is ideal for a skilled technician who enjoys working independently in the field, troubleshooting equipment, and delivering excellent customer service.

What You’ll Do:

As a Field Service Mechanic, you will perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on construction equipment at customer job sites and Barnsco facilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Travel to customer job sites to service and repair construction equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance on Barnsco rental equipment in the field
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and restore equipment to full functionality
  • Inspect and maintain forklifts, tractors, trailers, and related equipment
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and fully operational service vehicle
  • Track parts inventory and complete required vehicle logs and inspections
  • Communicate repair status and recommendations with customers and internal teams
  • Perform in-house repairs when service calls are not pending
  • Read and interpret schematics and utilize computer-assisted diagnostics
  • Respond to after-hours service calls as required
  • Maintain consistent communication with the Service Manager and Service Coordinator

What We’re Looking For:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 5+ years of hands-on field service experience with construction or rental equipment
  • Strong mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and understand schematics
  • Professional demeanor with a strong sense of urgency and customer service focus
  • Must supply a basic set of industrial tools
  • Valid, current driver’s license required
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs , climb on/off equipment, and use tools throughout the workday
  • Comfortable working in the field and outdoors at job sites

Pay & Benefits:
