Job Description

The Construction Manager is responsible for managing a wide range of functions necessary to obtain and successfully execute construction projects. They are responsible for ensuring a high quality of service in all dealings with customers, clients, subcontractors, and resource providers involved in construction services. This job description assumes that the Construction Manager has the support of a Construction Superintendent performing all construction field activities.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Manage the customer experience and overall customer satisfaction
  2. Manage the client experience and overall client satisfaction
  3. Evaluate and sell projects
  4. Educate customers on construction processes
  5. Develop scope of work for projects
  6. Develop and review estimates
  7. Negotiate customer and/or client approval of project scope and estimate
  8. Negotiate terms and set expectations
  9. Collect deposits and draws
  10. Document and/or review job file to support the services provided
  11. Maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders
  12. Manage expenses and assist in collecting final payment
  13. Recruit, train, and onboard personnel as needed
  14. Manage all warranty activities
  15. Ensure proper permits are acquired
  16. Identify and qualify subcontractors and resource providers
  17. Manage any equipment, tools, and materials (assets)
  18. Follow and oversee safe work practices and adherence to safety and risk management guidelines at all times
  19. Be familiar with and be able to execute all roles and responsibilities of the Construction Coordinator and Construction Superintendent
  20. Continued development of leadership and management skills, as well as restoration/construction expertise
  21. Perform other job duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements
  1. High school diploma/GED
  2. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  3. Effective written and oral communication
  4. Basic computer skills including Word and Excel
  5. Experience in restoration and/or construction preferred
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
  1. Walking and/or standing throughout the day
  2. Frequent driving and sitting
  3. Occasionally climbing ladders
  4. Occasionally exposed to extreme conditions such as heat
  5. The noise level at individual jobsites can be loud
Normal Working Hours, Additional Working Hours, and Travel Requirements

This is a full-time position, working hours varying between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., MondayFriday, 40 hours per week minimum. This position frequently requires long hours, working on-call, and weekend work. Travel is required and is primarily local. However, some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
